Frequently Asked Questions
Do we have the correct contact information for you?
If you have recently moved, changed e-mail addresses, or phone numbers, please make sure to get that information updated with us ASAP. We want to make sure we keep you in the loop with our upcoming upgrade as well as any other future information that we may share. Contact information can be updated by visiting either of our branch locations, calling us or by signing into Online Banking and/or our Mobile App.
Will I get a new Debit OR Credit Card for the upgrade?
No, you will keep your current SCCU Debit and/or Credit Card with the same card number and expiration date until that card is set to expire. When that card is reissued, you will still keep the same card number unless it is reissued due to fraud. Also, please be aware that reissued cards will have a new look after our upgrade! Please Note: To activate your debit and/or credit cards, you will now call 866-762-0558.
Will my due date change for my credit card payment?
Yes, your due date will be changed to the 28th of each month starting in July 2022. Please Note: Some cardholders will have 2 payments during the month of July with one being due on July 7th and the second being due on July 28th.
Will the address change to mail my credit card payment?
Yes, the new address will be: 612 Rembert C. Dennis Blvd, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Payments sent to the old address after June 22, 2022 may be delayed in posting.
What number can I call if my Debit OR Credit Card is lost/stolen?
Starting June 27, 2022, you will now call 888-241-2510 to report your Credit Card as lost or stolen. Starting on July 25, 2022, you will call the same number to report your Debit Card as lost or stolen (888-241-2510).
With the upgrade, will I still receive a separate Credit Card Statement?
No, your Credit Card Statement will now be included with your regular Member Paper Statement or regular Member eStatement. For those receiving paper statements, the Credit Card Statement will be separate page(s) from your Member Account Statement, but included in the same envelope. Please Note: If you receive your regular statements electronically, you will now receive your Credit Card Statement electronically. These can be accessed through Online Banking and/or the SCCU Mobile App.
Will I still access the same website to view my credit card transactions, print eStatements, make payments, etc.?
No, that website is going away with our upgrade. You will now access your credit card transaction history, holds, eStatements, and make payments through your SCCU Online Banking and/or SCCU Mobile App. Since the current Credit Card website is going away, we recommend saving your old eStatement files prior to the upgrade because eStatements on the old website WILL NOT transfer to your SCCU Online Banking or Mobile App after the upgrade.
What about CardValet® and uChoose Rewards®?
Both of these services are going away with our upgrade. Any points that you have with uChoose Rewards will be carried over to our new Rewards system once it is released. We will send out more details about that Rewards system at a later time so please be on the lookout for future communications.
CardValet will be replaced with Card Controls for both Debit and Credit Cards. This will be accessed using the SCCU Mobile App. With Card Controls, you will have the ability to turn your SCCU Debit and/or Credit Card on/off and receive transactional notifications to your mobile device. Card Controls is already live for Credit Cards and will go live for Debit Cards on July 25, 2022!
Will anything new be in Online Banking and/or the SCCU Mobile App after the upgrade?
You will now be able to access more features in Online Banking and the Mobile App to include:
- Credit Card Payments
- Credit Card Transaction History
- Credit Card eStatements
- Card Controls (i.e.: the ability to turn your Debit and/or Credit Card on/off and recieve transactional push notifications) - This replaces CardValet®
Will I still receive phone calls for fraud alerts for my SCCU Debit AND/OR Credit Card?
We are adding a new feature to our Fraud Detection service. We will now text and e-mail you if fraud has been detected on your account. Texts will reference the last 4 digits of your card number, date of transaction, amount of transaction, and location of transaction. E-mails will also reference the last 4 digits of your card number and ask you to verify that you or someone authorized to use your card made the transaction(s) on your card. In the e-mail you will be asked to either select "All Transaction(s) Authorized" or "One or More Transaction(s) NOT Authorized."
Will we have any new services with the Debit Card Upgrade?
Yes, we are adding Digital Wallets, which is anticipated to be available by the fall of 2022! This new service will give you the ability to add your Santee Cooper Credit Union Debit and Credit Card to your smartphone's wallet as a payment method, which can be used for in-store as well as online purchases. We are planning to add digital wallets for use with Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay.
